The Bowen Group Receives MarCom Awards

Sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), the MarCom Awards event is an industry-wide competition that recognizes outstanding achievement in marketing and communication. Of the 6,000 entries this year, only 18% received the prestigious Platinum or Gold award, and 10% received an Honorable Mention. The following Bowen products were awarded:

President and CEO Deborah Mayberry leads company to 685 percent sales growth over a
3-year span, landing the company on the prestigious Inc. Magazine’s list of 500 fastest-growing companies in 2011.

Inc. Magazine recognized The Bowen Group as one of the 500 fastest-growing private U.S. companies in 2011. Last Saturday evening, President and Founder, Deborah Mayberry, and Chief Financial Officer, Tom Mayberry, accepted this prestigious award at the Gaylord Hotel, Washington National Harbor. “It is a great honor to be among the 500 fastest-growing companies, but we know that it is completely attributable to our stellar team of professionals and our loyal client base,” says Ms. Mayberry. “I’m proud of the milestones we’ve reached, especially during one of the worst economies my generation has experienced, and am optimistically looking towards the future.”

With nearly 7 million private companies in the United States, the annual Inc. 500 list is a prestigious and elite recognition, with companies ranked this year according to percentage of revenue growth from 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generated at least half a million dollars of revenue by March 31, 2007, be based in the United States, and operate as a privately held and independent company as of December 31, 2010.

“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2011 Inc. 500 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.” Notably, The Bowen Group is one of the few Inc. 500 women-led companies, representing only 10 percent of the entire list.

Inc. 500 companies generated 35,823 jobs during 2001–2010. By contrast, Fortune 500 companies eliminated 821,000 jobs in 2009. The Bowen Group is proud to be a part of the small business and entrepreneurship community, having steadily created and sustained job growth throughout its 5-year history.

Another win for Bowen! The Bowen Group is a top 50 winner for the 2010 Magellan Awards Communications Campaign Competition.

The Magellan Awards are a League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP) competition that recognizes outstanding communications campaigns and organizational achievements. Bowen received the prestigious Gold Award for the Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) Communication Plan, developed to support, educate, and empower relocating Department of Defense (DoD) personnel and their families. The Gold Award was also received for the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Strategic Communication Plan, which implemented an awareness campaign for military families with special needs, raising visibility of the EFMP and of the resources and programs available to support special needs families. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) announces The Bowen Group as Platinum and Gold MarCom Award winners for the 2010 international competition.

The Bowen Group received two prestigious Platinum awards for branding and developing collateral materials supporting the Department of Defense Joint Family Readiness Conference and the U.S. Marine Corps Demobilization Kit and Career Guide "Put Your Corps Values to Work". Additionally, the company received the Gold award for branding and developing collateral materials for the DoD Child Development Conference, and received an honorable mention for creative logos developed in support of the Department of Defense Joint Family Readiness Conference and the Exceptional Family Member Program. The MarCom awards recognize outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals. As part of its mission, the AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to organizations ranging from Fortune 50 companies and the public sector. With over 5,000 entries this year, approximately 15% of applicants received the highest honor of the Platinum award. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts- marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro-bono, creativity and electronic/interactive.



Deborah Mayberry admitted into the Nationals Women’s Presidents Organization (WPO)

We are honored to announce that our President and Founder, Deborah Mayberry, has been admitted into the Nationals Women’s Presidents Organization (WPO), Washington D.C. Chapter. The WPO is a non-profit membership organization for women presidents of multimillion-dollar c,ompanies. The WPO is headquartered in New York City and currently boasts over 82 active chapters and over 1500 members across the US and in Canada.

The Bowen Group honored NAGC awards

The National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC), a national network of professionals who disseminate information within and outside government, announced the winners of the Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards Competition. Bowen employee Kristin McPeak was honored with the Excellence Award for the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Logo and secured second place for conference materials developed for Military Community and Family Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Award winners were honored at a banquet held May 17, 2010 in conjunction with the 2010 NAGC Communication School in Washington, D.C.

GSA MOBIS contract awarded

The Bowen Group has been awarded a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services (MOBIS) contract to provide professional consulting services under Special Item Number (SIN) 874 1 – Consulting Services.
